Sorry I missed this milestone birthday, Christmas, New Year. Happy x3! You have a few years on me, but aging is a tough road to travel. Keep the squirrel pictures coming. I enjoy seeing what Superior looks like from your point of view.

No worries.

Belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

All those squirrels are courtesy of Kent Peterson. He’s up in Superior. I’m in the Illinois-Wisconsin border.

Happy happy birthday Ken!! 🎉 Glad you’re here and on this side of the grass. You make Substack interesting, as you and a few others are the only reasons I really hop on if I’m not writing something. Keep the faith my good man!

Damned right, you're alive - and I look forward to you being around for many moons to come :-)

Appreciate the gracious mention, brother - I know how you feel about keeping the idea of 'friendship' alive. The older we get, the harder it is to maintain hope, but maintain it we must. No reason to die on the inside before our time, am I right? ;-)

Happy birthday!!! *salute

The cliches all have it right, Ken: old age is the happy birthday that never ends. Welcome to the old farts club. ;-) And thank you for your kind mention.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, my dear friend! Yes, we're friends! Yes, we will most probably always be friends.

I remember having the "65-Blues", Ken. You are right at the mean-ager stage of growing older. I remember how that felt. You aren't young enough to be considered middle age BUT, you are too young to be a true senior citizen. You're in a no-man's land. It's a feisty age, but it's an ornery age, too. You can still get away with being naughty and pulling pranks --or being one.

I was dared to run through a public water fountain in the middle of the day at 65 ... I yelled "HA!" Then I kicked off my shoes and laughing, I ran right through it!

AT 65 you can still turn a few heads from the opposite sex --(I know, I know, with our loving spouses, that isn't supposed to matter, BUT it's still a nice feeling, knowing we aren't a full fledged prune yet). And while we're on the subject ... 65 is still a great age for ... er ... "boom boom". That's what they make Viagra for! The house is empty and you can make as much noise as you want!! There are couples in their 80's that still take the afternoon ... "nap" ...

So, when you're feeling down and you need a friend, just remember you have a lot of us "out here". We'll send that "feeling down feeling" screaming out the door and instead, we'll send love and hugs and gobs of best wishes. ❤️❤️💕

HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
